Episode #2: How to Know Your True Calling from GodDec 24, 2019
Raise your hand if you or someone you know was confident they were headed in the right direction career-wise and then . . . they weren’t. They were either laid off or they lost interest or maybe their business idea just didn’t work.
I’ve heard stories of missionaries who felt called to go to a certain country and after raising support to go to the mission field and actually making it to the mission field, it didn’t last long. Either a sickness sent them back to the United States or they just didn’t feel called anymore. This actually happens.
So does this mean they missed their true calling from God? Or they were sorely mistaken on an obviously good direction?. What happened there? I mean, if you love God and are willing to serve Him anywhere, why isn’t it crystal clear what you’re supposed to do?
If you have an inquiring mind right now and you want to know, then it’s time to put on your thinking cap and listen to Episode #2 of The Work Is Good Podcast.
At the end of the show, you’re going to have a super clear understanding of what God has called you to do. I know -- a big promise for a short podcast, but we’re going for it!
You Have Clear Callings from God
Clear Calling #1: God has called you to Himself.
Clear Calling #2: God has called you to a holy life.
Clear Calling #3: God has called you to work.
Clear Calling #3: God has called you to significance.
But What About Super Specific, Personalized Callings?
Here's the deal. If you have a super specific, personalized calling from God, you likely already know it. There's little to no doubt in this type of calling!
If you don't have a super personalized calling, I assure you that as long as you're pursuing those clear callings already mentioned in this episode, you're on the right track and have nothing to worry about!
God often guides His people to specific work as you live your daily life, seek His will and look around you. He opens doors -- and they are unmistakable doors. So let’s go over a few things you can do to make sure you see those doors:
1. Pursue your general, clear callings.
2. Consider the needs of the world and those around you.
3. Consider your spiritual gifts and natural abilities.
4. Consider your desires.
